The main principle behind Pulsedlite hair removal system is selective photothermolysis (SPTL). Pulsedlite emits a specific wavelength of light and pulse duration, which cause localized damage by selectively heating dark target object, melanin, while not heating the rest of the skin. The intense pulsed light penetrate into hair follicle and preferentially absorbed by the melanin of the hair. The hair shaft and hair follicle are heated rapidly and destroy the oxygen-supply organization around the hair follicle. Hair follicles stop growing, degeneration, and atrophy to achieve permanent hair removal.
